I am interested in the structure, function and molecular bioenergetics of photosynhtetic reaction centres. I aim to understand how these systems work and how they evolved. In addition to a focus on molecular enzymology I am interested in redox tuning in reaction centres. This is used extensively in oxygenic photosynthesis to protect the system against damage due to side reactions with O2.
