Our primary interests revolve around evolutionary adaptations and innovations in systems that range from molecules to biological networks. How do metabolic and regulatory networks enable innovation? What is the role of gene duplication, genetic robustness, neutrality, cryptic variation, phenotypic plasticity, and cooperation in facilitating innovation? To ask questions like these, we use a broad range of experimental and computational approaches.
