The research of my laboratory is focused on understanding the neural basis of the learning and memory mechanisms underlying drug addiction, including the neural systems basis of compulsive drug and alcohol use. Our translational aim is to develop new molecular and psychological treatments that will promote abstinence by disrupting the maladaptive drug memories that precipitate craving and relapse.
