Mitochondrial genome and its evolution

In the field of comparative genomics, the focus is on the features and evolution of the metazoan mitochondrial (mt) genome.Particular interest in the mechanism of evolution of mt DNA in vertebrates and human. More recently, I have been involved in several molecular biodiversity issues, DNA barcode included, with the particular aim to integrate genomics and (bio)informatics with biodiversity.
