The molecular organization of endothelial junctions

My group has been among the first to characterize, at a molecular level, the organization of endothelial cell-to-cell junctions and their role in the control of vascular permeability and leukocyte extravasation in inflammatory conditions. We also found that junctions, besides maintaining endothelial cell to cell adhesion also transfer intracellular signal important for the correct organization of the vascular system.
