Molecular mechanisms of regeneration

My group studies the mechanisms underlying vertebrate regeneration using axolotl as a model system. We further seek to understand how regeneration has become limited in other vertebrates. We have identified the stem cells for regenerating the axolotl limb and spinal cord, and identified signalling pathways involved in initiating regeneration.
