Embryonic Development in Drosophila

We continue to use genetic and molecular strategies to investigate the mechanisms responsible for cell programming in the Drosophila embryo, and the circuits that couple those cell fate decisions with the resultant changes in cell shape and cell polarity. Our experiments rely heavily on quantitative optical imaging and systems level mathematical modeling.
