Chromatin architecture, histones and evolution

Chromatin architecture regulates gene expression and genome stability. My group combines genomics, genetics, live imaging, biochemical and structural approaches to study how histone variants function as integrators of chromatin activity. We use model plants Arabidopsis and Marchantia to question how chromatin architecture evolved and influence evolution of eukaryotes.
