Cellular evolvability in eukaryotic cells

The main focus of my lab is understanding cellular evolvability, which is the ability of cells to adapt to environmental or genetic perturbations by acquisition of genetic changes. Dissecting the molecular mechanisms at the basis of cellular evolvability has important implications for our understanding of the design principles of cellular systems as well as for both medical and synthetic biology applications.
