Single Molecule Biophysics

Our lab has pioneered the use of the AFM to study of the mechanical properties of single molecules. We discovered new binding mechanisms and unfolding paths in biomolecules and elucidated the activation mechanisms of force sensors in muscle. Recently we invented the single molecule cut &paste technology and explored its potential for the one-by-one surface assembly in a synthetic biology approach.
