Membrane glycoprotein folding and chaperone action

Proteins need to fold for function, which is controlled by networks of chaperones and regulated by stress responses. Our lab studies mechanisms of membrane protein folding in the endoplasmic reticulum, and how signal peptide cleavage influences the process. We aim to establish mode of action and regulation of chaperones in lumen, membrane, and cytosol, and to uncover disease-related defects.
