Signaling in cancer development; innate immune cells

We employ genetically engineered mouse models to investigate the molecular mechanism governing malignant transformation, focusing on EGF-receptor signaling pathways. We are particularly interested in tumor-stroma interactions with emphasis on how innate immune cells affect tumor growth. Recent efforts are also exploring novel immunomodulatory concepts to enhance immunity against tumors. The ultimate goal is to translate our findings to more precise and effective cancer therapies.
