Systems biology of gene regulatory elements

My group uses computational (bioinformatics, statistical modeling, statistical mechanics) and experimental approaches (molecular biology, biochemistry) to understand more about the function of gene regulation in animals. One major focus is the regulation of gene activity by small RNAs and RNA binding proteins (RBPs). Specifically, we aim to identify the gene regulatory networks that drive early embryogenesis (C.elegans). Further, we are working on understanding the function of microRNAs/piRNAs/RBPs during regeneration/stem cell biology (S.mediterranea).
