Networks in motion – from ion channels to behaviour

My research is focused on the neural basis of our motor repertoire including the intrinsic function of the microcircuits in the spinal cord and the brainstem command system that controls locomotion, in particular. I changed early from mammals to the lamprey to elucidate the molecular, cellular and network bases of motor behaviour and am now exploring the evolutionary conserved forebrain mechanism underlying selection of behaviour.
