Mechanisms of chromosome segregation in mitosis

To maintain genetic integrity, eukaryotic cells must segregate their duplicated chromosomes to their daughter cells with high fidelity during mitosis. My group aims to understand mechanisms ensuring proper chromosome segregation in mitosis. We focus on kinetochore-microtubule interaction, sister chromatid cohesion and chromosome compaction. We use budding yeast and human cells in our research, taking advantage of both systems.
