My group is interested in the mechanism by which specific secretory cargoes such as the collagens, mucins, and proteins lacking a signal sequence for entering the ER-Golgi pathway of secretion, are exported from the cells. My group is also interested in the mechanism by which the Golgi complex is assembled in the cytoplasm and partitioned into daughter cells during cell division.
