My group aims to define the molecular mechanisms of protein aggregation that lead to neurodegenerative diseases. To this end, we combine structural and cell biology approaches, utilising electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM) techniques with patient samples and advanced cellular models. An understanding of these mechanisms may provide successful strategies for the timely diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
