The evolution of developmental diversity among arthropods

I am interested in the genetic basis for animal diversity, with a particular focus on the arthropods and their relatives. We work on the mechanisms of segmentation, the control of segment identity and the diversity of patterning mechanisms during early embryogenesis. We are currently working with flies, collembolans and myriapods. We recently coordinated a genome project for the first myriapod genome, that of the centipede Strigamia maritima.
