My laboratory investigates how stem cells utilize different modes of programmed cell death for their elimination and the effect this has on stem cell-dependent processes. We also explore how the apoptotic machinery can be harnessed for various functions outside the realm of apoptosis. Additionally, we try to uncover novel stem cell populations, establish organoid platforms and develop therapeutic strategies for regenerative medicine.
