My research focuses on the mechanisms of immune defense against viruses at mucosal surfaces. Our group developed a new vaccine strategy, 'Prime and Pull', that can be used as prophylactic or therapeutic vaccine against infectious agents and tumors. Currently, my lab is studying beneficial vs. harmful immune responses during SARS-CoV-2 infection in order to inform therapeutic strategies against acute and long COVID.
