Genes predisposing to human cancer

My laboratory's main interest is the germline genetics of thyroid cancer, colorectal cancer, AML and CLL. Predisposing mutations are sought by linkage and association studies and next generation sequencing strategies. Thyroid cancer is a disease showing high heritability, yet few predisposing genes are known. Much of the predisposition comes from multiple low-penetrant mutations that are often non-coding RNAs, including microRNAs.
