Combining integrated structural biology techniques (cryo-EM, mass spectrometry, single molecule studies and x-ray crystallography) with cell biology approaches, we aim to explain at the molecular level the mechanisms governing RNA polymerase III gene transcription, its role in genome function and architecture through interaction with SMC complexes and retrotransposons, as well as novel functions in cytoplasmic DNA sensing.
Keywords: RNA polymerase III / SMC complexes / condensin / tRNAs / cancer / integrative structural biology / genome folding & organization / cryo-EM
