Recent advances in genomics revealed that 2/3 of mammalian transcripts are noncoding. It is now generally accepted that noncoding RNAs modulate gene expression and can impact phenotype. However the function, if any, of most ncRNAs remains unknown. Our research combines in-silico and in-vitro approaches and aims to establish the biological relevance of the unanticipated complexity and extent of the mammalian noncoding transcriptome.
