The main focus of my research group is to understand the impact of bacterial infections on the host cell microRNA pathway and, conversely, how this pathway influences the life cycle of bacterial pathogens. To achieve these goals, we apply unbiased, genome-wide systems biology approaches, including deep-sequencing and high-throughput functional screenings, followed by in-depth characterization of interesting microRNAs and their targets.
