Neuroimmunometabolism of sympathetic circuits
Our research focuses on the interplay between neural circuits, immune cells and adipocytes. We explore the neurobiological basis of obesity, with a particular interest in the role of sympathetic neural networks. We aim to pharmacologically target these circuits to combat obesity without side effects. By uncovering novel nerve-immune-fat interactions and pioneering 'sympathofacilitator' drugs, we helped define the field of neuroimmunometabolism.
