My group uses theoretical and computational physics to study protein assembly and cell membrane reshaping in life and disease: how proteins create the macromolecular machinery of life, and how pathological protein aggregation occurs. We particularly focus on cell reshaping and cutting by cytoskeletal filaments (ESCRT, FtsZ, actomyosin), cell shapes in symbiosis, and self-organisation of chemically-active matter across evolution.
