My lab focuses on the identification of the biological mechanisms that control senescence evasion in cancer cells, acting in a cell-autonomous and non-cell-autonomous manner. We are particularly interested in how the tumour microenvironment and immune response regulate senescence in tumours upon loss of PTEN. We believe that a combination of immunotherapy and pro-senescence compounds may be beneficial for cancer therapy
