Our group is interested in the mechanism of chromosome segregation during mitosis. Specifically, we study feedback control mechanisms, named checkpoints, which allow the seamless execution of chromosome segregation. Our ultimate goal is the biochemical reconstitution of chromosome-microtubule attachment. For this, we combine biochemical reconstitution, cell and molecular biology, and high-resolution structural analysis.
Keywords: Chromosome segregation / kinetochore / centromere / spindle assembly checkpoint / X-ray crystallography
