Over the last decade, my team has studied the innate immune and hematopoietic systems. We have been interested in understanding key stages of acute inflammation and the molecular drivers of those stages. We have also explored properties of the innate immune system in normal physiology that were poorly understood or simply neglected, including their capacity to regulate the dynamics, vascularization and metabolism of other organs.
