My group uses the 24-hour biological clock to understand how intracellular gene circuit dynamics lead to whole-organism phenotypes, quantitatively and mechanistically. We combine molecular genetics, metabolism and in-vivo reporter genes in Arabidopsis thaliana with physiology and mathematical models. We also study a non-transcriptional clock that might be shared across eukaryotes and prokaryotes, challenging a tenet of circadian biology.
