My group is concerned with understanding mechanisms of commitment to sexual development in the malaria parasite (Plasmodium spp) and subsequent development of the two genders of gametocyte in the mammalian host bloodstream. We study gene function, epigenetics in part through the refinement or development of new technologies to allow our investigations to achieve new levels of understanding.
