My lab aims to understand how molecular machines generate spatial organization and movement within eukaryotic cells. A main focus is on dynein and kinesin: microtubule-based motors that use ATP to transport components within the cell interior and play a critical role in assembling structures such as eukaryotic flagella/cilia. Core techniques in our research are cryo-electron microscopy, cell biology, and single-molecule fluorescence microscopy.
