My group investigates RNA and RNA processing as a read-out to determine the cell state of both hosts and pathogens at the single-cell level. Our work, involving pathogens such as Salmonella and respiratory viruses with cell culture models, organoids, and clinical samples, aims to understand infectious disease progression. This work is key in the development of precision diagnostics and therapeutics.
