Molecular basis of mitochondrial disorders
My group focuses in understanding molecular basis of mitochondrial disorders, and to use that knowledge to develop treatment. Our ambitious aim is to reveal the mechanisms of tissue-specificity of mitochondrial dysfunction, utilizing the specific disease models created in the laboratory, and to design targeted intervention for the currently incurable group of disorders of adults and children.
