My laboratory is involved in understanding the mechanisms and pharmacology of transport processes across eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell membranes. We focus on exploring the architecture of neurotransmitter transporters and multi-drug efflux transporters to devise strategies to block their activity for therapeutic outcomes. This allows us to study the roles of transporters in disorders like chronic pain, epilepsy and multi-drug resistance.
