Our group investigates genome inheritance during cell division. We address the mechanisms that generate and regulate dynamic interfaces between the microtubule-based spindle and mitotic chromosomes and coordinate the mechanics of chromosome segregation with cell cycle progression. We are also interested in how ancient chromosome segregation machinery is repurposed in multicellular embryogenesis and in targeting mitotic mechanisms in cancers.
