How nascent and free peptides regulate translation

My group uses combined biochemical, structural and computational approaches to study some of the key events that take place within the functional nano-environment of the ribosomal exit tunnel. This includes translational arrest induced by nascent polypeptides known as arrest peptides, and bacterial ribosome inhibition by antimicrobial peptides or antibiotics.

Keywords: Ribosome / arrest peptides / protein synthesis / translation / antibiotics / antimicrobial peptides / gene regulation / metabolite sensing
