Our lab is interested in the consequences of replication fork arrest and the links between replication impairment and genome stability. We use E. coli as a model system. Using genetics and molecular biology, we showed that impairing replication stimulates genome rearrangements, and described reactions that take place at blocked forks, such as replication fork reversal. We presently pursue our study on how bacteria respond to replication impairment.
