My group is broadly interested in all forms of cellular organization, from membrane-bound organelles to cytoskeletal assemblies and phase-separated compartments. We ask how organelle architecture directs molecular function and, reciprocally, how macromolecules sculpt and shape organelles. To investigate these questions, we use cryo-electron tomography to directly visualize macromolecules 'in situ', within the native cellular environment.
