The purpose is to increase our understanding of the properties and mechanisms by which two types of pathogenic bacteria, the emerging nosocomial pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii and the very versatile extraintestinal pathogenic variants of Escherichia coli (ExPEC), express their virulence-associated properties.
