My research group is interested in transmembrane metabolite uptake, and our work focuses on sterol uptake through the lysosome, and cellular sugar import. We use mainly structural biology methods, primarily crystallography and single-particle cryo-electron microscopy, to address these key metabolic uptake pathways and elucidate the detailed molecular mechanism behind these transport processes.
