Mechanisms of brain function decay in the old

The general aim of the laboratory is to understand the mechanisms behind the decline in cognitive capacity that occurs during aging. In light of the (most obvious) fact that cognitive decline is not identical in all individuals, we approach brain aging by combining different types of experimental approaches in old animals with different genetic backgrounds exposed to different types of environmental pressures, internal and exogenous.
