Our group investigates how posttranslational modifications of tubulin, combined with the expression of specific tubulin genes (isotypes), regulate the functions of the microtubule cytoskeleton. We combine biochemical and biophysical studies with cell biological and whole-organism approaches to understand the regulatory principles as well as the biological roles of tubulin heterogeneity.
