Research in my laboratory is centered upon defining the hereditary elements underlying common human diseases which are otherwise unexplained by environmental exposures. The focus of my efforts is to search for actionable mutations for complex diseases. Actionable mutations refer to genetic mutations which, due to their disruptive function on proteins, are more directly amenable for either disease predictive tests or therapeutic targeting.
