Cellular proteostasis control and stress responses
Cellular protein homeostasis (proteostasis) is under continuous strain, particularly in numerous human diseases, such as neurodegeneration, infection and cancer. My group studies the resulting stress responses in mitochondria and other cellular compartments to better understand how cells react to different stresses. We aim to understand molecular and system-wide effects to gain a comprehensive understanding of pathways, regulation and modulation.
