My lab is using cryo-electron microscopy in combination with digital image processing to study the structure and structural dynamics of large macromolecular assemblies and machines. A particular focus of my group is on ribosomes. Here, we are studying the molecular mechanism of translation in all domains of life as well as translational control, e.g. by regulatory sequences in the mRNA.
