Structure and function of membrane proteins

Our lab uses cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography to determine the structures of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in different conformational states and in complex with signalling proteins such as arrestin and G proteins. In combination with pharmacological analyses and biophysical data, these structures allow us to decipher the molecular basis for receptor activation, ligand efficacy, G protein specificity and bias signalling.
