Mitochondrial gene expression in mammalian cells

My laboratory is focused on studies of gene expression and DNA maintenance in mammalian mitochondria. We use in-vitro biochemistry, structural biology and cell biology to study the underlying enzymatic processes. We also investigate the molecular consequences of disease-causing mutations affecting mitochondrial gene expression and develop new, rational therapeutic approaches.
