The research interest of my group is at the interface of developmental and evolutionary biology with the main focus on identifying genetic and epigenetic mechanisms governing seed development and their impact on plant speciation. We are in particular interested in understanding the impact of transposons in establishing hybridization barriers between recently diverged species and the epigenetic pathways involved in this process.
