My lab aims to understand the fundamental cellular, molecular and morphogenetic mechanisms required to build the vertebrate CNS. We have two main goals: (1) understanding spatio-temporal mechanisms controlling the organisation and diversity of forebrain neuronal cell types, comparing zebrafish, mouse and human; and (2) uncovering the roles of axonal splicing factors and intron retention in neuronal maturation and connectivity.
